Periodontics

Periodontitis is a serious gum infection that damages the soft tissue and destroys the bone that supports your teeth. It can cause tooth loss and other health problems if left untreated. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene can help prevent periodontitis.

If you are diagnosed with periodontitis, scaling and root planing may be recommended. Scaling and root planing is a non-surgical deep cleaning procedure that removes plaque and tartar from below the gumline. It smooths the root surfaces of the teeth to promote healing and prevent further gum disease.
